Tooth Fairy Pays a Visit

The Tooth Fairy stopped by our flat last night and left a US Dollar for Ella. I'm guessing it's because you can't buy anything with one Euro, but back home we'll be able to head for the Dollar Store.

This was Ella's second tooth. She pulled the last one out by herself, with some coaching from Daddy. But she just wouldn't pull this one. It finally fell out on it's own either while she was sleeping or eating breakfast. We think she probably swallowed it, so there was no tooth for the pillow.

I'd post a photo of Ella sans tooth, but she's in bed and bedtime is when the whole story came out. Since she didn't have a tooth she put this tiny hunk of crayon in the pillow instead.

Not a nasty gray tooth, but a hunk of gray Crayola

She said she was going to try to pay the Tooth Fairy a penny, but she was afraid "Darling" (aka Daddy) would need the penny. So she broke off a hunk of gray crayon and shoved it in. Sure enough ... there it was, still in the corner of the pillow. The tooth fairy didn't fall for the crayon switcheroo after all!

But Ella was quick to notice that the Tooth Fairy didn't bring her as much money this time. You just can't pull one over on Ella or that fairy; in our house, she gives an extra quarter for kids who pull their own tooth. No pulling - no quarter!
